My first inkling that I would write about the long-vanished Sulphur Springs Hotel came during a day trip to the estate outside Ancaster, Ontario. As I walked around the grounds, I felt as though voices from the past were whispering to me. The grounds were pleasant, but certainly had more than a few dark corners to inspire the imagination of a mystery writer. Perhaps a blog, I thought. I snapped a few photographs and read the historical plaques then went home. It wasn't until the following day that I realized a story had formed in my head.
On the book's publication in March 2024, I was more than thrilled to read Steven W. Beattie's summation in the Toronto Star: " ... an extremely satisfying reading experience."
